Take the Facel Vega Facellia Coupe, of which only some 1,000 units were ever made, very few of which actually surviving until the present day of course.
This 1962 example from Hyman LTD is one of those lucky cars that were cared for throughout its life, especially after it was brought to America some ten years ago.
As we heard that the car has had its original (and notoriously unreliable) engine ripped out and replaced with the later model unit, the Volvo P1800 four-cylinder that later Vega models came with. It could even be made into a concourse show car with some work on the finer details, since it’s already in excellent mechanical and visual condition.
Well, if you have $39,500 lying around and you were thinking of getting a vintage European coupe, it could be for you. The price is a bit steep, but there are other cheaper ones out there; you just have to import them from Europe and chances are they will be in considerably worse shape than this one.
