Movie Review: Dawn of the Planet of the Apes

The film was a sequel to Rise of the Planet of the Apes, starring James Franco a few years ago. Continuing the story of apes led by Caesar (Andrew Serkis) who build their own civilization on earth. At the same time, humans also must try to rebuild civilization destroyed by the deadly virus attacks infect the world.

Although the film is no longer involved James Franco, two other big names present in this film, they are Gary Oldman and Jason Clarke. Acting lure of the two names that managed to make the film directed by Matt Reeves and monotan appear not far from boring. Mark Bomback as the author of the story also deserves thumbs up, even though the movie lasts 130 minutes, Bomback ascending managed to write down the story that the audience emotions. In the story, the film is actually quite simple.

How are the monkeys and humans are both trying to establish their own civilization. Of course in the end will emerge figures antagonist of both sides, this is where the intrigue going on and the war between humans and monkeys can not be avoided. Humans and monkeys war scenes are also presented with a very high quality with various special effects are qualified. One interesting note in the film is the appearance of Andrew Serkis as Caesar. The man known as the master of motion capture was previously widely known thanks to his performance as Gollum in The Lord of the Rings. Although Serkis "just" plays as Caesar through motion capture technology, he managed to show Ceasar very well. The various emotions of the leader Caesar monkeys successfully played marvelously.

Even some critics calling Serkis deserves the award, an incredible compliment given the fact that there has never been a single actor who received an award for his performance using motion capture technology the. Overall this film deserved thumbs up. Although frachise Planet of the Apes never get too extraordinary popularity as superheroes films, Dawn if the Planet of the Apes managed to present a very high quality film. Starting from the appearance of the actors, the script is very good, to the special effects are very great. 8/10! Definitely worth watching!
