We heard recently that Dacia has revealed its fourth model for the UK market, the Logan MVC. This car is available from £6,995 (€8,240) – the price of the base Access version.
The good news is that this Dacia’s estate car can be ordered by UK customers starting today, with the first units to arrive in Britain in July. The Logan MCV will be priced around £1,000 more than the Sandero for comparable versions, with the most expensive model being the diesel Laureate version, which starts from £10,795 (€12,715).
Although Dacia UK currently doesn’t have plans to import the Logan saloon, the MCV has been chosen due to its practicality and generous boot space – 575 liters with all five seats in their place, 1,518 liters with the rear seats down. Like the Sandero, the Logan MCV will be available in the UK in three grades: Access, Ambiance and Laureate.
In addition, the standard equipment for the Access includes body coloured bumpers (unlike the Sandero and Duster), 15-inch steel wheels, ABS with EBD (Electronic Brakeforce Distribution), ESC (Electronic Stability Control), ASR traction control, ISOFIX points in both outer rear seats and four airbags. Depending on the version, optional extras include a seven-inch MediaNav touchscreen, leather upholstery and rear parking sensors, among others. This company is also offering two accessory packs, Protection and Touring.
The most economical is obviously the diesel, with 74.3 mpg UK (3.8 liters/100 km) and 99 g of CO2/km, which means it is exempted from road tax and London’s Congestion Charge.
How about the engine? Well, the engine range includes two gasoline units - the 75hp 1.2-liter and the turbocharged 90 hp 0.9-liter – plus the 90hp 1.5-liter diesel. The base 1.2-liter averages 48.7 UK mpg (5.8 liters/100 km) with CO2 emissions of 135g/km, enough for road tax band E (just over £10 per month). The TCe 90 averages 56.5 mpg (5.0 liters/100 km) and CO2 emissions of just 116 g/km. Road tax is £30 per year.
